Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking a Senior Clinical Coding Auditor & Trainer to lead inpatient coding audits, education, and process improvement within a managed care environment. This fully remote role (with two annual trips to NYC) focuses on designing audit tools, delivering training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and elevating documentation accuracy and clinical integrity across inpatient settings.

How You'll Contribute
  • Design and implement audit processes, tools, and workflows for inpatient coding
  • Conduct coding audits focused on compliance, quality, and medical necessity standards
  • Deliver constructive feedback and coaching to improve coding accuracy and staff performance
  • Lead, facilitate, and evaluate training programs for new hires and current staff
  • Assess training needs and develop instructional materials and curricula
  • Ensure adherence to organizational guidelines, payer rules, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain thorough documentation of employee progress, audit outcomes, and training results
  • Support updates and revisions to internal policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on process improvement initiatives to enhance clinical integrity and documentation quality

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related clinical field, or equivalent experience
  • Active U.S. state nursing license (any state)
  • 4+ years of experience in nursing, auditing, or training within managed care
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Inpatient coding certification (CPC, CIC, or CCS)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Prior supervisory or team lead experience is a plus
  • Ability to work fully remote with ability to travel to New York City twice annually

Salary: $68,700 - $123,700/year 
Bonus: Eligible for up to 8% performance bonus
