Nurse Manager, Labor and Delivery

MissionHires is partnering with a Florence, Alabama health system to hire a Nurse Manager for a well-established Labor & Delivery unit. The role leads daily operations, elevates patient outcomes, develops staff, and supports patient-centered, natural birthing experiences while collaborating across disciplines. Ideal candidates bring strong L&D clinical expertise, leadership experience, and current certifications.

• Lead and oversee day-to-day operations of the Labor & Delivery unit
• Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and adherence to L&D protocols
• Coach, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; drive ongoing professional development
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, hospital leadership, and external nursing programs
• Support natural birthing experiences when desired and clinically appropriate
• Manage staff scheduling, optimize coverage, and address staffing gaps
• Serve as an on-call/after-hours resource for emergencies and irregular situations
• Promote compliance with safety, regulatory, and evidence-based practice standards
• Foster a culture aligned with innovation, impact, and growth

• Active Alabama RN license or eligibility for endorsement
• BSN required or willingness/commitment to obtain
• Minimum 5 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of operating room procedures and L&D protocols
• Prior leadership or management experience in a clinical setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certifications
• Clean nursing license with no disciplinary actions
• Preferred: 10+ years in nursing and experience in ICU or other specialty areas
• Ability to work irregular hours and respond to emergencies as needed
