Operations Multi-Unit Leader
Position Summary
The Multi-Unit Leader reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and is accountable for driving same-store sales growth across a portfolio of restaurants. This role leads through others...coaching and developing talent at all levels to deliver excellence in operational execution, controllable cost management, and adherence to our business model.
Key responsibilities include full P&L oversight, budget administration, and the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures that ensure consistent brand and compliance standards. The Leader directs all facets of restaurant performance, spanning finance, people operations, community engagement, catering, retail, and take-out while also stewarding new restaurant openings.
This is a market-level leadership role that demands a builder's mindset: someone who develops people, strengthens processes, and elevates every restaurant in their portfolio.
Leadership
Champions company culture and brand standards across all locations.
Equips teams with the information and resources needed to perform at their best.
Partners with each GM to establish priorities, goals, and corresponding action plans.
Models core values and sets the standard for behavior at all levels.
Makes sound decisions on hiring, promotion, and separations.
Clearly communicates performance expectations and connects them to organizational goals.
Listens actively, responds to concerns promptly, and keeps leadership informed of wins and roadblocks.
Builds commitment and alignment around company initiatives.
Operations
Maintains Health Department and company standards across all locations at all times.
Ensures facilities, equipment, and buildings are properly maintained.
Holds locations accountable for consistently delivering best-in-class guest experiences.
Serves as a role model for guest service and recovery; monitors feedback and ensures timely resolution.
People Retention & Development
Oversees staffing levels, onboarding, training, and succession planning to ensure market depth and bench strength.
Coaches and develops Managers and Team Members for current and future roles.
Ensures disciplinary actions are documented and wages are equitably administered.
Balances scheduling to meet business needs while respecting quality-of-life commitments.
Recognizes and rewards team contributions regularly; fosters inclusiveness, fairness, and mutual respect.
Monitors retention and holds turnover to better-than-industry-average benchmarks.
Financial Management
Monitors costs to keep locations within budget without compromising quality or service.
Educates management teams on P&L analysis and drives cost improvement plans.
Manages G&A expenses and Capital Expenditure budgets and processes.
Oversees inventory standards and cash-handling compliance.
Prepares realistic, challenging location budgets for COO approval.
Community
Maintains current knowledge of the industry and local market landscape.
Partners with Marketing to build community-focused sales plans that drive brand awareness.
Translates community involvement into measurable sales impact and tracks ROI on partnerships.
Leads new restaurant opening processes to ensure successful, on-brand launches.
Education / Training / Work Experience
Minimum 5 years as a General Manager in Casual Dining or QSR.
Minimum 3 years in a Multi-Unit Leadership role (Casual Dining preferred)
Strong foundation in restaurant operations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to analyze P&Ls and drive results.
Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop talent at all levels.
Sharp analytical and strategic thinking skills; identifies problems and implements workable solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong negotiation and influencing ability.
Highly organized with strong planning and time management skills.
High attention to detail and sound decision-making under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills with a dependable, flexible, and professional presence.
