Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer for a direct-hire, onsite role in Mineral Wells, TX. You will design, develop, integrate, test, and certify complete air vehicle avionics systems, interface with customers, and support both new and legacy product lines. This role includes ground and flight test support, safety assessments, requirements specification, and FAA/TSO/STC certification support. Relocation assistance is available.

How You'll Contribute
  • Design, develop, implement, and analyze complete air vehicle avionics systems
  • Review and evaluate customer product requests; propose conceptual and feasible design changes
  • Analyze project proposals for feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and production timelines; collaborate with engineers, customers, and stakeholders
  • Support customer development and design activities
  • Perform system and software integration to verify product functionality
  • Develop or modify test applications and tools for integration and formal testing
  • Evaluate designs for compliance with engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications
  • Support software and system development for new and legacy avionics product lines
  • Support avionics systems ground and flight testing
  • Contribute to aircraft system safety assessment processes (FHAs, SSAs, FMEAs, fault tree analyses)
  • Support system and subsystem analysis and requirements specification
  • Perform system and subsystem modeling and performance analysis
  • Apply knowledge of avionics certification processes for FAA and other authorities
  • Provide certification support for TSO and STC projects
  • Serve as a technical interface to customers across multiple projects

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Software, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of related avionics experience and technical professional experience
  • Proven experience with avionics system/software integration and testing
  • Hands-on experience developing or modifying test tools/applications
  • Familiarity with aircraft system safety assessments (FHA, SSA, FMEA, FTA)
  • Experience with requirements specification, system/subsystem analysis, and modeling/performance analysis
  • Knowledge of FAA and other aviation certification processes; experience supporting TSO/STC projects
  • Ability to work onsite in Mineral Wells, TX (relocation assistance available)
  • Strong collaboration and customer-facing communication skills
