Senior Estimator, Sitework / Grading / Utilities (Atlanta Metro)

A confidential Atlanta area site development contractor is adding a Senior Estimator to its estimating team. This is not a junior seat. They need someone who can price full site packages, read civil plans cold, understand the dirt, and build a bid without hand holding. The work is grading, earthwork, underground utilities, paving, erosion control, storm, sewer, water, and site concrete, on projects from $4M to $30M. Base $130K to $170K plus a real 20% bonus, full benefits, and relocation is considered. Real growth path: the last estimator they brought in runs the estimating group as VP today.

Take off full sitework estimates start to finish: quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading, storm, sanitary sewer, water, paving, erosion control, and site concrete.

Run digital takeoff and mass haul / earthwork models (AGTEK) and build the bid in HCSS HeavyBid.

Solicit, level, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes; scope buyout with an eye on margin.

Walk sites and read civil plans and specs to catch scope gaps, unit price risk, and constructability issues before they cost money.

Own projects in the $4M to $30M range and present the bid, assumptions, and risks to ownership.

Partner with project managers and field on won work so the estimate hands off clean.

5+ years estimating self-perform heavy civil / sitework (grading, earthwork, underground utilities, paving), GC or site development contractor side.

Strong earthwork and mass-haul takeoff ability; hands-on with AGTEK and HCSS HeavyBid (or very close equivalents).

Can read civil site plans and specs cold and build a full bid without hand holding.

Comfortable pricing projects from $4M to $30M and owning the number in front of ownership.

Subcontractor buyout, quote leveling, and margin discipline.

Atlanta metro based or open to relocating (relocation is considered). Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is a plus, not a must if the estimating track record is there.
