Senior TypeScript Engineer

A fast-growing company is hiring a Senior TypeScript Engineer to become a foundational member of its first internal product engineering team. This person will help shape the technical architecture, engineering culture, and development standards as the company transitions away from external agencies.

In this high-ownership role, you’ll work hands-on across the codebase, lead with engineering best practices, and leverage advanced AI-assisted workflows to accelerate high-quality delivery. It’s a collaborative, impact-driven opportunity to help define the future of both the platform and the engineering organization.

• Define core technical architecture and foundational product engineering structures for the new internal team

• Establish engineering standards, coding practices, testing strategies, and communication norms

• Contribute hands-on across the codebase with a strong focus on TypeScript and system design

• Lead the transition from agency-led delivery to an internal product engineering model

• Collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering and future hires to build a cohesive technical organization

• Evaluate, implement, and refine AI-assisted engineering workflows beyond basic code autocomplete

• Review, validate, and improve AI-generated code and development processes

• Drive high-level technical decision-making and long-term platform direction

• Champion ownership, transparency, and excellence aligned with the company's values

• Extensive senior-level experience with TypeScript in a senior or lead capacity

• Proven track record in fast-paced, product-led, or startup environments

• Ability to work hands-on while influencing long-term architecture and engineering standards

• Strong ownership mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Experience improving technical quality, delivery practices, and engineering culture

• Interest or experience with AI-assisted software development workflows

• Ability to work from the Brighton office at least three days per week

• Nice-to-have:

  • Experience as a founding/early engineer or in high-ownership roles

  • Production experience with modern web/product engineering stacks

  • Exposure to system architecture, technical leadership, or mentoring

  • Experience evaluating or implementing advanced AI tools and workflows

  • Familiarity with the .NET ecosystem
