Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking a Project Manager (VDC/Construction) on behalf of a leading national mechanical and electrical contractor. This hybrid, San Antonio–based role leads project-level VDC execution across hyperscale data centers, hospitals, life sciences, and high-rise commercial projects. The VDC Project Manager serves as a technical and process liaison, ensuring BIM standards compliance, efficient workflows, accurate deliverables, and cross-discipline coordination while mentoring teams and advancing emerging technologies.

How You'll Contribute
  • Lead VDC project execution, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards
  • Coordinate schedules, milestones, and deliverables with project leadership and field teams
  • Review client BIM requirements; advise teams and drive compliance with contractual BIM execution plans
  • Manage model/file sharing, coordination workflows, secure access, and archiving of milestone submittals
  • Create project-specific Revit families/content following standard practices
  • Apply standard VDC, detailing, and engineering workflows to improve project efficiency and outcomes
  • Develop and refine new workflows to meet direct project needs
  • Provide training and mentorship on VDC programs, workflows, and best practices
  • Coordinate BIM/VDC standards and data requirements to meet company and project objectives
  • Set up and troubleshoot production planning and tracking tools (e.g., Stratus)
  • Perform QA/QC reviews on VDC outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Research, test, and drive adoption of approved emerging technologies; document lessons learned
  • Partner with IT to ensure proper hardware/software configuration for project teams
  • Deliver end-user support for ACC, Revit, Navisworks, and related VDC software
  • Contribute to visual assets (videos, animations, 2D/3D graphics) for presentations and marketing
  • Assist in developing virtual design presentations and marketing materials
  • Provide input on RFPs regarding VDC technology scope and approach

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • 4+ years of VDC/BIM/virtual design experience within mechanical, electrical, or MEP construction
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical field preferred
  • Track record leading medium-to-large VDC projects and resolving complex technical challenges
  • Hands-on experience with BIM/VDC and fabrication/ERP tools: Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo, Newforma Konekt, Revizto, Naviate, and Stratus
  • Strong understanding of construction means/methods and fabrication processes, with emphasis on mechanical systems and field coordination
  • Ability to design/manage advanced workflows and implementation plans to enhance project efficiency
  • Demonstrated capability to evaluate, adopt, and integrate emerging technologies to industry standards
  • Proficiency in BIM content creation (Revit families/RFAs)
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently with strong initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; effective cross-discipline collaboration
  • Hybrid work capability with regular office presence in San Antonio and on-site project visits
  • Experience at a commercial mechanical or electrical subcontractor
  • Project experience in hyperscale data centers, hospitals, or life sciences facilities
  • Experience leading VDC teams or coordinating multiple VDC Specialists/Detailers
  • Experience with production planning platforms (Stratus, Assemble, or similar)
  • Preferred: Advanced Dynamo scripting or Revit API experience
  • Preferred: Fabrication shop exposure (sheet metal, piping, or electrical prefabrication)
  • Preferred: Bilingual English/Spanish
