In this role, you’ll leverage a strong engineering or physics background to prepare and prosecute patent applications across emerging technologies (AI/ML, data science, wireless, semiconductors, IoT, sensors, optics). You’ll collaborate with inventors and attorneys, conduct novelty and clearance searches, draft high-quality applications, manage USPTO interactions, and support portfolio strategy. How You'll Contribute
  • Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology domains
  • Identify inventions through technical interviews and discussions with inventors
  • Conduct novelty and clearance/prior art searches to differentiate inventions from existing technologies
  • Draft comprehensive patent applications, including specifications, claims, and drawings
  • Negotiate and respond to USPTO communications to secure optimal claim scope
  • Prepare reports and documentation to support patent portfolio management and strategy
  • Maintain organized matter files and timelines while communicating progress to stakeholders

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics with excellent academic record
  • 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
  • Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with one or more areas: data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things (IoT), optics, or related fields (highly advantageous)
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and writing skills
  • Exceptional attention to technical detail with strong organizational and communication abilities
