Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is partnering with a major healthcare organization to hire a fully remote Data Analyst IV for its Medical Economics team. You’ll lead complex analytics across claims, member, provider, HEDIS, and pharmacy data to deliver actionable insights that improve financial and clinical outcomes. Ideal candidates bring deep SQL, advanced Excel, and Power BI expertise, with strong healthcare analytics experience (Medicare/Medicaid/Marketplace) and familiarity with payment methodologies. CST/EST preferred; PST candidates must work early hours.

How You'll Contribute
  • Serve as lead analyst across large, complex healthcare datasets (claims, member, provider, HEDIS, pharmacy)
  • Deliver actionable insights to improve operations and inform business decisions
  • Build and optimize advanced SQL (complex JOINs, SELECTs), stored procedures, and indexes for performance
  • Perform financial modeling, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis using large-scale data
  • Create data models and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations in Excel and Power BI (including DAX/Power Pivot)
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in finance, clinical, and operations
  • Mentor junior analysts and support workload distribution
  • Document processes, data definitions, and analytic methodologies

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, public health, actuarial science, healthcare administration, or related field; or 9+ years equivalent experience without a degree
  • 5+ years working with large-scale databases, data verification, and data management
  • Expert-level SQL, including complex JOINs, window functions, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, nested formulas)
  • Proven experience in healthcare analytics, including Medicare/Medicaid/Marketplace data
  • Familiarity with payment methodologies (DRG, APC, EAPG)
  • Power BI proficiency (DAX, Power Pivot)
  • Experience with financial modeling, trend analysis, and root-cause analysis
  • Knowledge of Python or R is a plus
  • Experience in Medical Economics, actuarial analysis, or managed care consulting is highly valued
  • Ability to work remotely; CST/EST time zones preferred; PST must be available for early hours
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
