Why This Role Matters

MissionHires, on behalf of a long-established Michigan workforce solutions provider, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition across Metro Detroit. This is a true outside sales role focused on opening new accounts, developing long-term relationships through consistent in-person engagement, and partnering closely with recruiting teams to deliver staffing solutions for manufacturing, automotive, logistics, warehousing, industrial, and distribution clients. The role is based from Southfield with significant field activity and offers a strong base, uncapped commissions, residuals, and clear growth potential.

How You'll Contribute
  • Develop new staffing business and open new accounts throughout Metro Detroit
  • Conduct regular in-person prospecting, facility visits, and client meetings
  • Build relationships with hiring managers, plant and operations leaders, HR professionals, and executives
  • Uncover client workforce challenges and deliver consultative staffing solutions
  • Negotiate and secure new service agreements and job orders
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle and maintain an organized pipeline
  • Collaborate closely with recruiters and branch personnel to ensure quality delivery and service
  • Drive long-term recurring revenue and expand existing accounts
  • Identify strategic opportunities for market and branch expansion across Michigan
  • Maintain disciplined field activity to meet weekly and quarterly performance targets

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • 2-7 years outside B2B sales and/or business development experience

  • Demonstrated experience opening new accounts and closing net-new business

  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Hunter mentality with disciplined activity management and follow-through

  • Professional presence and effective in-person communication skills

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout Metro Detroit

  • Preferred: Business development experience in staffing/workforce solutions

  • Preferred: Experience selling into manufacturing, automotive, logistics, industrial, distribution sectors

  • Preferred: Existing relationships in Southeast Michigan

  • Preferred: Industrial supply or services sales background

  • Ability to meet performance expectations: ~50 decision-maker conversations/week, ~5 client meetings/week, ~6 new billing customers/quarter, ~9–10 new service agreements/quarter
